Said thing won’t leave me alone and keeps rubbing itself against my leg. It runs away from everyone else. Pretty sure it knows I’m allergic.

I am confident that cats can tell when you’re allergic and will intentionally stay nearby

You have been chosen.. There is nothing you can do about it other than accept your fate to give it noms and pets when demanded, I mean requested.

Cats show pleasure and friendliness by closing their eyes/blinking and turning their faces to one side. Unfortunately that is also how allergic people (or people who generally dislike cats or pets) usually react to them.

That’s a cute cat.
You may as well give up. You’ve been adopted by your new owner.
Better get used to anti-histamines.

It chose you. You have no other choice to take it home and love it and care for it

Pretty sure my dogs would see it differently.

I had a lost kitten just like that. Named her “Paul”. Didn’t last long.

That’s what we thought would happen with our dog. Our dog is a cat now
